The team behind Epic: First Semester says it is already discussing a sequel following the film's September 10 premieres and September 11 release. Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi described the project as a romance made from conviction rather than a commercial calculation.

Anand Deverakonda said he connected with the story of a middle-class student abroad and its conversations about love, family and responsibility. Vaishnavi Chaitanya highlighted the film's treatment of periods and PCOD and said women had responded to the care shown within the central relationship.

Aditya Hasan, known for the 90s web series, makes his feature-directing debut with the film. Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas produced it, with Srikara Studios presenting.
