A new Telugu film book, Screenplay Master - Sukumar, examines the construction behind director Sukumar's stories rather than simply recounting their plots.

Author Dr Praveen Yajjala uses examples to discuss how Sukumar adapts ideas associated with screenwriting theorists including Robert McKee and John Truby to local settings and social textures. The book focuses on psychologically wounded characters, internal conflict and the director's combination of intellectual puzzles with emotion.

Its central argument is that Sukumar's rural politics and culturally specific worlds are built through deliberate screenplay architecture, offering readers a craft-focused route into his filmography.
